Global food producer Mars, Incorporated participates in the US Exascale Computing Project’s Industry Council, which formed in February 2017 to facilitate information exchange between the ECP and the industrial user community. In this contributed article, ORNL’s Scott Gibson describes Mars’ efforts to leverage next-generation computing technologies to improve food safety and sustainability and create manufacturing efficiencies.
